8 Tips , Do's and Dont's to follow while using immersion heaters
- Ensure that the heater is provided with 3 core cable and a plug top. The immersion heaters should always be used in a three pin socket with proper earthing.
- The immersion heater should be inserted in vessels or bucket where the level of the water should be in between the "Maximum & Minimum mark" of the immersion heater rod. Otherwise the element will fuse due to dry heating.
- Care should be taken to ensure that the Bakelite connector is not immersed in water
- Don't hang the immersion rod on the wall of the plastic bucket.
- Connect the heater to the mains only after it is dipped in water.
- Switch off the current and remove the plug before removing the heater from water.
- For personal safety, remove the heater unit after one or two minutes after switching off the current.
- Do not use the immersion heater for any other purposes like heating milk, oil etc. Use it only for heating water.
